WHAT ARE PEACE CLUBS?

Peace Clubs is an educational tool used to empower individuals and communities with skills, knowledge, and practice in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. The materials are both thorough and easy to use and can be adapted to a variety of contexts – primary and secondary schools, community groups, prisons, refugee camps, families, church and Sunday School, etc.

Peace Club Tree Represents 3 Core Beliefs:

Conflict transformation and resolution must start at the root of the conflict.
Sustainable peace is built through community involvement, as the elders of a village would traditionally gather beneath a tree to share their wisdom and resolve conflicts.
The baobab tree is indigenous to Zambia, and represents our commitment to indigenous wisdom in conflict transformation and resolution. Other countries will have other indigenous trees that symbolize Peace Clubs.
